A stadium visit is a must for anyone wanting to mingle with the locals. From April through October Global Life Park in Arlington is where the Texas Rangers steal the show. Watch a baseball game and snack on peanuts or candy with a soda. Nearby AT&T Stadium, the stomping ground of the Dallas Cowboys football team, centers on one of the largest HDTVs in the USA. “Jerry’s World,” as this entertainment hub is sometimes called, is also a concert and soccer venue throughout the year.
Many of Arlington’s attractions are within walking distance of each other. To escape the Texas humidity, take a taxicab or rent a car. The Metro Arlington Express (MAX) offers daily passes for travel between the University of Texas at Arlington campus and a rail station south of Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.
While many come here for the day, Arlington’s range of hotels and restaurants make it easy to stay a while. Slow down, savour a plate of grilled food and take a stroll along Johnson Creek as the sunset sets over Texas.
