"Luckily we arrived in daylight, as the road up to the Osteria zig-zagged in impossible hairpins up from the valley. It's possible that after dark and unlit we might just have turned around and headed for somewhere flat. However, if we had done we would have missed a completely unique experience. The hamlet of Anzonico clings to the side of an Alp and there is no vehicle access to the Osteria. Parking is in a lay by about 50 yards further up. "Good location hotel, walkable distance from Ancona old town and lake. Nice pickup and drop of with hotel bus (from and to Locarno train station. Staff was overwhelmed with a series of group booking, confusion was evident but no improvement. My room was a small but with a view, AC not working and none of the staff knew how to fix it. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake and pool was a nice setting but staff again overwhelmed with groups."

"This is a resort with beautiful facilities & grounds. Dining options including breakfast were excellent. The inside dining room & outside were exactly what you would expect of a top of the line Swiss resort. Driving to anywhere along Lago Maggiore is just beautiful with stunning mountain vistas that take your breath away. Bellanzona with its 3 castles, Coripo is for the VERY adventurous but worth every minute of a trip. All these are a short drive from the resort."

"The hotel was very clean, and it was great that we had room service every day. Breakfast options were good. It would be good if they consider renovations of rooms as there is no electrical outlet or usb chargers and perhaps new fridges in the rooms. "Very convenient to downtown Locarno. Staff very helpful! Breakfast excellent! Parking was tough! Very tight access and spaces. Laundry turned out to be one washer and one dryer in the basement. We had chosen the hotel specifically to be able to catch up on laundry. We thought there was a washer/dryer in each unit. It worked out ok, but we were lucky, as this turns out to be a tour hotel with many large groups. We will stay again, just understand the constraints better. "

"Really clean hotel with all the amenities you need. Basic but it’s what you pay for. The location is ideal as it’s very central. Was kindly upgraded to a private bathroom too and the 10% discount for the restaurant is a bonus which was excellent food. The woman on reception was very helpful and kind too.
