"The place was lovely - just right for a weekend getaway. It was easy to get in at night and the room was a good size. Bed was super comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows! Breakfast was plentiful and owner is very friendly. Easy to walk into town to all shops and restaurants and close to the beach - great location. All in all - highly recommend. "

"The main heating system was broken, requiring use of the backup system. The room was EXTREMELY cold and it took nearly an hour to warm up. No one had gone into the room to preheat it. Poor service. The back up heating system was VERY noisy and disrupted my sleep all night. Not a pleasant experience and I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!"

"The staff was very helpful and accommodating during our stay. It's 10 minutes from downtown which was convenient for us to visit family. The rooms are as expected in a motel but the beds are comfortable for a no frills stay. It really is the best option for Old Saybrook for reasonable price. It is right off I-95 but the double paned windows they put in keep the highway noise low. I couldn't hear it at night. I highly recommend the Liberty Inn."

"For what I was looking for, the motel was fine. The problem was the Hotels.com website had misinformation posted about this motel. The website stated it was pet friendly only to find out it was NOT per friendly. Initially the motel warned it would apply a $300 fine for anyone who brought a pet against its policy. "Upon entering, a beautiful clean smell in the lobby, elevator and hallways. Quick check in. Overall great one night stay. However, the shower head was coming out of the wall slightly and needed a little work. Also, breakfast was NOT included and looked like the typical complimentary breakfast. We have stayed here before but for some reason the phone rang at random at least three times during the night. That never happened when staying here before. Very clean and safe and quiet. Would definitely stay again! "
