Remodeled rooms are clean. I do worry about the windows, which have no guards and are at knee height....it's a fatal accident waiting to happen! Just a simple trip or stumble and it's going to be awful. So be extra careful. I'm really surprised this isn't against regulations/building codes.

I really enjoyed the quaint lobby, especially with the Christmas tree and fireplace going. It was nice walking into after hours on the road.

This room is fine, especially for the price. The beds are pretty firm, which to me is a good thing, it has a nice size fridge, and was pretty clean overall. There wasn’t anything majorly wrong with the cleanliness, just that the bathtub looked a little “dingy” for lack of a better word, and it had a faint odor in the room that while is wasn’t revolting or a big enough deal to warrant wanting to change rooms or anything, but when first entering, or when re-entering the room after being out for a little while, you can definitely smell it. The best way I can describe it is just kind of “old” smelling like you would find in an old house. Another minor complaint is the lack of direct USB plugs with multiple outlets. All the power was a standard wall plug, and there were only a couple available. If your family have multiple devices you need to plug in, you may run out of outlets pretty quick. There was some renovations being done, which is obviously a good thing. The downside to this is some noise and equipment/supplies taking up space in the parking lot next to the side door. Definitely not a bad place to stay for the night if you’re going through Amarillo. The price is right and it’s super easy to get on/off the interstate.

This was our second stay for my wife and I at The Ashmore. The rooms are spacious and beds are firm with great pillows and linens! Faculty is about a 1/4 mile off the busy I40 so no traffic noise. Breakfast was very good scrambled eggs and sausage. Wife would have preferred bacon option. Eggs not overcooked like most scrambled eggs with very good coffee. The manager came to check on satisfaction level in Dining Room. Only complaint is the exhaust fan intake is drawing no air in restroom both visits. Suspect a belt is bad on central exhaust fan or fan motor has failed . Thank you for a quality stay! Larry & Cathi M
