"It was a relaxing and comfortable stay. Hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel lobby has a welcoming and warm fireplace, it was perfect on a cold day. "This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here. "

"We had a good stay at Furuhata, but there were a few inconveniences. The onsen was fantastic—nice and hot, perfect after a long day of skiing.
