"Great place to stay in Taiyuan. All the rooms are on the upper floors of a tower block - ours had a great view over the busy city to a lake and distant mountains (when the smog cleared!) The facilities of the hotel are top class and there's an excellent Chinese restaurant - great choice of delicious food at reasonable prices. On the other hand the breakfast wasn't particularly good value."

Beautiful place for breakfast, Chinese breakfast did not suit my wife but great coffee and orange juice, i think they own luckin coffee next door. "I only booked this hotel as Lonley Planet noted its right by the train station, well yes the old station, but its a fair way from the new fast train station! Otherwise just one thing, my booking was for 2 people including breakfast, which was written on my booking which I had printed out and showed the hotel staff. But they said that only entitled me to only one free breakfast and I would have to pay for the other breakfast, even though they agred my booking was for 2 people including breakfast....

"'Standard' Chinese hotel. I stayed there for one night because it is close to the airport. I would not stay there again. Room stinks, bathroom stinks even more. No smoking rooms don't exist. No AC or heating. Fortunately staff was very friendly and did speak English. Do not pay more than £30 for night. "
