"The hotel manager and employees are not doing their jobs. No towels changed in the room even if we left the dirty ones on the floor, the hotel manager or any employee didn't know how the room safe worked, the fridge in the room wasn’t working and was replaced just the last day. "We stayed at Hotel Val de Ruda for eight nights to ski and experience the region. The hotel staff was exceptional; friendly, professional, going above and beyond to see that we had a pleasant, relaxing stay. When a larger room opened, Inma offered it to us for the remainder of our stay. Melania and the entire dining staff made sure we tasted the traditional liqueurs and dishes of the Valley. The breakfasts were wonderful and dinners exceptional. A five minute walk to the main Baqueria gondola with lockers to stow our equipment and gear made skiing easy. Drive up the mountain to Beret for a less populated ski mountain and Nordic skiing track. If skiing is your desire, Val de Ruda is a great hotel to use as your base. "

Great amenities but lacking the expected service

"Hotel is in excellent condition and have great rooms. However, we were not satisfied with the overall service level at the Hotel. First we were not able to get a table in the main restaurant for dinner despite attempting to book several days in advance, this meant we were stuck with the buffet/ala carte option in the other restaurant. From the looks of it, it seems fine, however the taste was just not there at all in any of the dishes. The fish for main courses was way undercooked, and the meats were very cheap cuts and far from tender. In addition the level of service in regards to the ski lockers was undesirable and cost us a lot of time."
