"The hotel is a large old inn on the outside, but inside is modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. For example: we were shown to our room on arrival (never had that before) and were a font of knowledge about the various local walks and sights. There is even a map painted on the ceiling of the bar! Restaurant was an excellent source of hearty and freshly cooked meals (breakfasts and dinners). Highly recommend."

Considering it was double would.not expect bathroom to.have a small.cloakroom size sink with no where to put anything and shower cubicle not spacious . Bed comfy. Felt we got short straw on room . Bar feels odd having to register for a table to sit inside and felt conducive to a warm welcome. Chose not to eat in pub "

"Standard hotel, rooms are basic and functional, though in need of refurbishment in some areas. Having said that, there is a nice, lived-in feel about the place, so maybe it doesn't need too much gentrification. Staff are extremely polite, helpful and efficient, much more so than in most more-expensive hotels I have visited. Dinner was a little bit disappointing, breakfast was better! Overall, it's a decent place to stay if you are active and looking for somewhere to stay where you won't feel out...

"A lovely place in a beautiful area, ideally situated for a number of walks. The hotel is really nice and the room was large and well appointed. Steph and her team are second to none and she is super helpful and nothing ever seems too much trouble. I would highly recommend this pub to stay, we’re sad to leave. "

"We booked last minute as we were tired with still a long way to drive home. We were welcomed by the owners and got our key quickly. They said they had only owned the hotel about a year and were gradually doing it up. The bar is listed and absolutely beautiful. Our room had everything we needed after a quick shower we had a great sleep. Breakfast was included in the great price and was top class. Hopefully we'll wander that way again and would definitely stay at the station hotel again. "

"After reading a review in a paper we decided to try for ourselves. The George and Dragon staff were so welcoming and friendly easy to talk to and very helpful. Our room was clean and tidy with lovely en-suite shower room , soft towels and toiletries . Breakfast and evening meal was delicious all staff made sure our dining experience was so comfortable.
