"We really wanted to like this place - it’s a gorgeous, old stone chalet with great photos. Unfortunately, we were met by an unpleasant man who led us to a very small room that had a horrific smell. We tried to air the place out but it didn’t fix the problem. We asked about the smell, assuming that we be moved to a different room, but the man was irritated at our request and gave us a bottle of pine cleaner to pour down the sink drain...and that didn’t fix it. Also, we were bit by some unseen...

An American family next to us had the same experience. It seemed the Spanish guests were getting preferential treatment. "This is a no frills place to stay. That said, the staff are lovely, breakfast is nice and very good value. Our room smelt heavily of cigarettes, so we had to have the balcony doors open all night to clear it. The shower head in the bathroom was broken so it sprayed water at the ceiling and there were dead flies. That said it was functional and ok for what it is. Wouldn’t stop me going there again as a stop over."

"Charming little hostel in small mountain village. Proprietors are very friendly but do not appear to speak English, so wise to arm yourself with a little Spanish beforehand to make things easier. Lovely views, clean comfortable rooms. Very inexpensive out of season. Breakfast is good. Wifi works. Parking is best in the large car park at the edge of the village and then walk 5 minutes. Visit Reysas bar (you will pass it coming up from the car park) for Paella and sangria. "
