"We arrived on Christmas Eve after a 7hr taxi journey, we were greeted with a welcome drink and very friendly staff. Once escorted to our room which had an amazing view of the ocean, we discovered that the lock on our door was held on with gaffer tape and the barrel could be pushed out with your finger. The management said 'it maybe fixed before you leave it may not' So after a bit more gaffer tape and feeling totally secure in our room we also discovered the place was filthy dirty and hadn't...

"It is poorly managed and run down place. Pro - Beach is 200m away after crossing open train tracks. Cons - Run down old house - next to the train tracks (last train at midnight and the first at 3am) the whole room will vibrate with noise. - consistent power cuts and they dont have back up power source ( temp was around 32c) - There was no AC remote in the room and was made to pay UDS 10 to get the remote or you can burn in the heat. You could open the wimdow and loose all the privacy and let...

"Hotel staff was extremely friendly and they took hospitality to the next level. One day they threw a seafood BBQ for us by the beach, the other day they made a fire pit directly on the beach. The hotel is clean and great for such a price. We had the whole beach for us. The only downside was that the area was not touristic and not much to do, we went to bentota for some fun and came back."

Beautiful

"Beautiful Geoffrey Bowa- designed boutique hotel set in a beautifully tended garden. This is our second stay & it didnt disappoint. The staff remembered us after 4 years! Very good service, excellent breakfasts & evening meal. There is a train line running along the bottom of the garden and the train clanks along it every hour or so. We loved the quirkiness of it. Its a gorgeous, peaceful sanctuary. Beautiful beach is just over the railway line. There are bars along the beach to the left for a lunchtime wander & food, and also great places to eat along the beach to the right in Bentota (or short tuk-tuk ride). I would happily come back here anytime!"
