"Host was very friendly and helpful! Our room had been recently renovated and was clean and very well done. The lobby area was very cozy and welcoming. We arrived on a Tuesday and their restaurant was closed in the evening but we were given excellent recommendations for elsewhere."

"Staff was outstanding. The whole facility is spotless. Very good food. Great value for the dollar. Stayed here in 2005 and back yesterday for one night. Will come again. Emmetten is like no other place on earth!"

"We were in Austria but the rains closed all the trains. We decided to go to the Interlaken area. Hotel Alpenrose was the only hotel that wasn’t double our budget. It is really more of a cozy bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was a little bit out of the way but the trains are so easy in Switzerland than it wasn’t an issue. The ride back gave us time to get caught on emails and send pictures and texts friends and family. We would stay there again. "

"Very nice and clean property right on the lake. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the train station which is convenient. When I was there there were a lot of families with young children and not a lot of young adults so it was not a very social hostel as a solo traveller, I do not know if it is always like this. "

Within walking distance to Sedrun train station. Plenty of parking spaces. If I have to find some cons, the sound isolation wasn't so great between rooms. Sometimes we could smell odor (smoke?) from the next room too. Also keep in mind during winter the road to Andermatt is closed, but you could still use...
