"This was our second stay at the Marion. It's like spending the night at the museum. You can read the history of the original owner if you spend a few minutes at the waterfront Chinese Heritage Museum. The hotel is very close to bars and restaurants on Carpenter St. that can be noisy on occasion. We have stayed in the Chapel wing both stays and we're not bothered by street noise. Rooms do need a fridge though to keep the water cold. Only real negative is the noise from within the hotel. Could hear chairs being moved and people talking. "There was a fire in my bathroom and they moved me to a different room. The new room they provided the drain backfilled filling up the bathroom floor with sewer water. Make sure that you bring your own toothpaste and soap. Did I mention the cockroach’s? "

"The owner and his wife managed very well for everything. It is fully equipments in common area ,tidy and clean room and so worth for the room rate. He can be a traveller ambassdor in Maylaysia. He shows us the specical features, animals, birds,plants ,..... from his expert travel experience within the Nationals Park. The garden was growing different kinds of the tropical plants. I and my husband enjoyed talking with him and get to know deeply the Malaysia cultural. "

" I was in Kuching for 10 days staying at a different place every 2-3 days all around the same price range and this one was the worse of them all. The tv was a rabbit ear 13" with a snowy picture and 2 Vietnamese channels only. The hotel is old in a not so good area with hookers standing outside the hotel. The hotel is so old if it is clean you can't tell, needs paint, plumping toilet leaking around the base, needs lots of work to bring into a 1-star hotel rating. Many restaurants in walking...
